POSITION SUMMARY:
The Temporary Duty Support position provides student supervision and safety support during non-instructional periods of the school day. This role supports smooth school operations by assisting with student arrival and dismissal, monitoring recess and lunch activities, and reinforcing positive behavior expectations.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide students a safe and secure environment at all times, including during outdoor activities supervision during arrival, dismissal, and recess.

Respond to minor conflicts or disruptions, providing redirection as necessary, and reporting more serious incidents.

Understand and maintain district guidelines regarding safety and confidentiality.

Maintain a confidential non-judgmental manner towards the students, staff and programs.

Maintaining open communication with educators, nutrition services staff, and school administration regarding student behavior and any concerns.

Employ good judgment in a variety of situations, including emergencies and when responding to student and/or safety concerns.

Observe students for any potential issues like conflicts, injuries, or distress, and provide appropriate support or report concerns to relevant staff.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, supervisor, staff, and families.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Working with children in a school, childcare, youth program, sports, or community setting is required. Ability to work scheduled shifts aligned to school arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess times as directed by the school administrator.
CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
SALARY: $20.86 per hour
WORK YEAR: 192 day calendar
FTE: 0.20 (up to 8 hours per week)

Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in an elementary, middle, K-8 and/or High School campus environment with extensive student, staff, and family contact and frequent interruptions. Work hours vary by school and program.

Physical Demands: Primary functions require standing for extended periods of time; hearing and speaking to exchange information in person; seeing to read, prepare, and assure the accuracy of documents; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; standing outside in various weather conditions.
