Job description
JSC Systems is currently expanding our Systems Design Department and is seeking an individual with experience configuring and planning commercial fire alarm, security, communications, and other low voltage systems. You will work on both pre and post-sales system design to ensure compliance with engineered plans and specifications, and to find value-engineering and scope expansion opportunities. You will prepare construction shop and as-built drawings using CAD software to enable system installation by JSC’s technicians and our subcontractors. If you are currently a low voltage estimator, lead technician, or project manager, this may be an ideal position for you.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- The primary focus of this position will be to design complete and accurate life safety, security, and other low voltage systems that comply with applicable codes and project specifications
- Using AutoCAD or similar software, you will create or modify existing plans to accurately depict system design for installation
- You will be tasked with determining the most efficient system designs while considering value engineering options
- From time to time you may be asked to participate in limited pre-sales strategic account design collaboration for design-build or security consulting opportunities
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to work a full-time schedule
- At least 2 to 5 years of experience as a lead technician, estimator, systems designer, or project manager in the commercial fire alarm, electronic security, and/or other low voltage specialty required
- Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Certification or other design and drawing software
Preferred:
- NICET and other relevant industry certifications are a plus
