Position Overview
We are seeking a Customer-Facing Account Manager to own, grow, and develop shipper relationships within our 3PL brokerage. This role is sales-driven, with a strong focus on revenue growth, account expansion, and long-term partnership building. We have an existing book ready for you to manage and grow.
Unlike an Account Representative role that emphasizes daily execution, the Account Manager is responsible for strategic account growth, identifying new opportunities within existing customers, and serving as a trusted logistics advisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage a portfolio of shipper accounts with full responsibility for revenue growth
- Serve as the primary relationship manager and strategic point of contact for customers
- Establish new prospects, Leads and customers.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within existing accounts
- Develop account strategies to increase volume, lanes, and service offerings
- Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and RFP responses
- Help grow and develop the carrier based on & around your customer base/lanes.
- Collaborate with carrier sales and operations teams to execute customer freight efficiently
- Maintain high customer satisfaction while driving margin and profitability
- Conduct regular business reviews with customers to align on performance and growth
- Proactively identify risks, service issues, and solutions before they impact the customer
- Maintain accurate account activity and pipeline data in CRM/TMS systems
- Ability to train account representatives on all logistics tools in use.
Pay is a base plus commission.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred; or two to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, 3PL sales, or account management preferred
