Payroll / HR Coordinator Job Description
The Temporary Payroll / HR Coordinator will be responsible for all Payroll / HR functions. This will include managing onboarding, employee relations, compliance, payroll and benefits. They will also assist with training, injury reporting, audits, inventory, compliance, and additional tasks as needed. Additional accounting duties will include accounts payable, and bookkeeping support at the direction of the Controller.
Payroll / HR Duties
Recruitment and Hiring:
- Ensure new hires and rehires complete all required onboarding steps.
- Oversee that safety and new hire orientation meeting requirements are met.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as the main point of contact for manager and employee inquiries related to payroll systems, policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Help address employee issues and conflicts promptly and efficiently.
- Promote a positive work environment by supporting and executing employee engagement initiatives.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.
- Assist in payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Payroll and Reporting:
- Manage the processing of weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
- Maintain payroll records and provide key reporting to management as needed.
- Process garnishment requests & DSHS reporting.
- Manage all paperwork related to the WA ESD unemployment requests.
- File quarterly/annual payroll tax returns and submit tax payments
Benefits Administration:
- Manage insurance benefits and be the main point of contact for employees.
- Ensure accurate accruals of Vacation and Sick time for employees.
- Manage health insurance and 401k deductions.
- Assist with 401K enrollments and changes.
Training and Development:
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs.
- Support career development and performance management processes.
Injury Reporting
- Manage all L&I claims and injury reporting.
- Send monthly meeting ideas to orchard managers.
Accounts Payable
- Serve as backup to the Accounts Payable position, handling a variety of Accounts Payable duties to include but not be limited to collection of 4-W forms and set up of new vendors. Vendor account reconciliation, invoice entry, check printing, check distribution, and 1099 management and reporting.
Other Duties
- Answer a multi-line phone system and operate various office machines.
- Assist with special projects and provide general support as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- 2 + year's experience in payroll, HR and accounting support roles.
- Deep understanding of employment laws and best practices.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures.
- High degree of integrity, honesty, and respect for confidential information.
- Solid proficiency with MS Office software, particularly in Excel & Word.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, as needed, with limited supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is required.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
