Shipping Coordinator (Company Confidential)

The Shipping Coordinator routes deliveries and supports outbound operations. This role works closely with drivers, customers, sales personnel, customer service, branch personnel, warehouse staff, subsidiaries, and third-party partners to coordinate daily deliveries, resolve shipping issues, maintain accurate records, and support safe, timely service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide a positive customer experience and help meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Coordinate drivers and deliveries throughout the day.
- Resolve shipping issues involving customers, sales personnel, customer service, branch personnel, and other partners.
- Route trucks and drivers.
- Coordinate deliveries with subsidiaries and third-party partners.
- Manage and maintain delivery records.
- Pull and double-check customer orders as needed.
- Load trucks safely and efficiently as needed.
- Coordinate truck and trailer repairs with the maintenance department.
- Maintain an effective, organized, clean, and safe staging and work area.
- Provide backup support in the warehouse as needed.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance and work safely at all times.
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of company products and processes.
- Understanding of DOT and FMCSA requirements, as well as state and local transportation regulations.
- Ability to read maps and utilize GPS technology effectively.
- Knowledge of local roads and customer locations within the service area.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, delegation, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, judgment, and stress-management skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional image as a company representative.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; orAn equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in plumbing, waterworks, and/or dispatching is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
