Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide one-on-one support to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The RBT will implement individualized treatment plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to improve communication, behavior, and independence. This position is ideal for those who want to make a meaningful difference while gaining hands-on experience in behavioral health and special education.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA using applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles
- Collect and record data on client behavior, progress, and response to interventions
- Support children in building communication, social, and self-help skills
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, and feeding when needed
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to promote consistency across home and clinic settings
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA and ethical guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, ongoing supervision, and professional training
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive environment during all therapy sessions
Qualifications
- Current RBT certification or willingness to complete certification within a set timeframe
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Understanding of ABA principles and data collection (training provided)
- Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and engage in active, play-based sessions
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in psychology, education, or related fields is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
