Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Counseling Administrator to lead and coordinate our counseling services within an educational setting. Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise school counseling programs, including individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health, behavioral issues, and academic advising.
- Develop and implement policies aligned with educational regulations, school policies, and child welfare standards to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.
- Coordinate with teachers and staff to identify students needing behavioral or emotional support, utilizing skills in conflict management and classroom experience.
- Provide specialized counseling services such as special education support, cultural diversity counseling, Christian counseling, and childhood development guidance.
- Oversee compliance with legal requirements related to child protective services, educational regulation standards, and school legal knowledge.
- Facilitate training sessions for staff on topics like behavior management, conflict resolution, social work principles, and adolescent development.
- Maintain detailed records of counseling activities while respecting confidentiality; prepare reports related to standardized testing outcomes or child welfare cases as needed.
- Collaborate with external agencies including child protective services or mental health organizations to coordinate comprehensive care plans for students.
Qualifications
To be successful as a Counseling Administrator, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative or supervisory experience in a behavioral health, mental health, counseling, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral health operations, patient scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, authorizations, and medical records management.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and healthcare compliance standards.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to supervise, train, and support administrative staff.
- Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients, families, providers, and community partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and onboarding requirements before employment.
