Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard or worksite, and accurately documents these activities as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):

Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

Loads and unloads product onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand as necessary.

Loads materials into trailers and installs bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.

Enters receiving information into the SOI business management system (ERP) according to current standard operating procedures.

Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.

Counts and records number of units of product moved or handled on a bill of lading, noting the “sell by” date or manufacturing date code.

Attaches identifying tags or labels to incoming materials on cases, drums or other containers.

Records product movement and acknowledges receipt of shipments. Reports overages, shortages or shelf life issues to supervisor.

Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power industrial handling equipment, and cleans work areas, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators as required.

Performs daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse inventory as required.

Requirements:

Education: High school degree or GED required
-
Experience: At least 1 year of warehouse and forklift experience.

Language/Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and possess general email writing and online research skills.
