Position Overview
The Corporate Engagement and Events Manager owns the planning and execution of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County's fundraising events and corporate engagement activities, including the Club's signature annual gala, golf outing, and donor appreciation events. This role brings the Club's mission to life through well-run events and a strong community presence, working closely with the CEO, the Assistant to the CEO, the VP of Development, and the Communications and Donor Engagement Director.
This position is the organization's primary owner of event logistics, timelines, vendor relationships, and volunteer event committees.
Responsibilities
Special Events
- Lead the planning and execution of all special event fundraisers, including the annual gala, golf outing, awards ceremony, and donor appreciation events.
- Develop and manage event timelines, keep staff and vendors on schedule, and monitor task completion throughout each planning cycle.
- Serve as the point of contact for volunteer event committees, managing committee relationships and overseeing event volunteers.
- Secure permits, contracts, and vendor agreements for all events, and manage event budgets against revenue and expense goals.
- Represent the Club at community fairs, third-party fundraisers, and other external events as needed.
Corporate Engagement
- Cultivate and solicit corporate event sponsorships, tables, and in-kind support.
- Coordinate corporate volunteer days and community service projects in partnership with Club program staff.
- Steward corporate partner relationships year-round, in coordination with the VP of Development on broader corporate giving strategy.
Volunteer and Community Relations
- Serve as the initial point of contact for volunteer groups, cultivating and stewarding those relationships over time.
- Identify and develop new opportunities for community engagement and partnership.
- Support the CEO and VP of Development in representing the Club at external events and functions.
Fundraising and Development Support
- Partner with the VP of Development to align event goals with the organization's overall donor cultivation and moves management strategy.
- Provide event guest, sponsor, and donor data to development operations staff for accurate database entry and stewardship follow-up.
- Coordinate with the Communications and Donor Engagement Director on event promotion, materials, and donor communications, including the biannual print newsletter as needed.
- Work closely with the Assistant to the CEO, who provides ongoing logistical support for events, to ensure smooth day-of execution.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Proven ability to plan and execute special events from conception through completion, including budget management and vendor negotiation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with board members, volunteer leaders, donors, corporate partners, and community members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events and projects simultaneously.
- Proactive, flexible, and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with fundraising principles and donor relations; comfort working alongside development and communications staff.
- Passion for youth development a plus.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in special event planning and execution resulting in revenue of a minimum 6 figures, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Competency in Microsoft Office products and strong capacity to learn new technologies.
- Experience with DonorPerfect or similar CRM.
- Valid NJ driver's license.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required by the event schedule.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
