SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for creating exceptional beverage experiences for guests across all resort outlets, including bars, pool and beach areas, restaurants, and in-room dining. This role combines technical beverage knowledge, creativity, and anticipatory service to ensure guests enjoy perfectly crafted drinks with attentive, Forbes Five-Star service. Bartenders also maintain bar organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and liquor regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Engagement & Experience

Greet guests warmly and provide a polished, professional experience at the bar.

Offer personalized beverage recommendations, including cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options.

Prepare and serve beverages according to standardized recipes, presentation guidelines, and guest preferences.

Anticipate guest needs, maintaining attentiveness to orders, refills, and special requests.

Handle guest concerns promptly, following Forbes-aligned service protocols to ensure satisfaction.

Maintain positive guest relations, ensuring a friendly, welcoming atmosphere throughout the shift.
Operational & Bar Management

Set up, organize, and maintain the bar station, including glassware, garnishes, and beverage inventory.

Ensure all bar equipment is properly maintained and used safely, including POS systems, blenders, ice machines, and refrigeration units.

Monitor beverage stock levels, prepare daily requisitions, and communicate shortages to management.

Adhere strictly to all state and resort liquor regulations, including serving to guests responsibly.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, back-of-bar storage, and guest-facing stations.

Support opening and closing bar procedures, including cash-out, reconciliation, and prep for next shift.
Training & Standards

Maintain complete knowledge of bar menus, daily specials, signature cocktails, and beverage offerings.

Participate in pre-shift briefings, tastings, and ongoing training sessions.

Uphold Forbes-aligned grooming, uniform, and presentation standards consistently.

Train and mentor junior bartending staff in service etiquette, recipes, and efficiency as needed.
Communication & Collaboration

Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, management, and other departments to ensure smooth guest flow and timely service.

Relay VIP requests, special occasions, or guest preferences to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or mixology training preferred.

Previous experience as a bartender in luxury resorts, fine dining, or high-volume settings preferred.

Knowledge of POS systems and inventory management preferred.
