Auntie Nikki's Daycare is seeking a passionate, experienced, and qualified NM PreK Lead Teacher to lead our PreK classroom.
We are looking for an early childhood professional who values play-based learning, understands child development, and wants the opportunity to truly lead a classroom while working alongside a supportive NM PreK Assistant Teacher.
Your education, credentials, and experience matter to us. We want our Lead Teacher to feel respected as an early childhood professional and supported in providing high-quality learning experiences for children.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Multicultural Education OR already be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and working toward that Bachelor's Degree.

What You'll Do
- Lead a high-quality, engaging NM PreK classroom.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences aligned with NM PreK Standards.
- Work collaboratively with your Assistant Teacher in a co-teaching environment.
- Support children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, literacy, math, creative, and physical development.
- Complete required observations, assessments, portfolios, lesson plans, and NM PreK documentation.
- Individualize learning experiences based on children's development and needs.
- Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management practices.
- Build strong, professional relationships with children and families.
- Communicate with families about children's learning and development.
- Participate in family engagement activities, staff meetings, trainings, coaching, and professional development.
- Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming, and engaging classroom.
- Follow NM PreK, ECECD, licensing, and Auntie Nikki's Daycare requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Multicultural Education OR currently enrolled and actively working toward the Bachelor's Degree.
- Applicants who are currently enrolled must be able to provide documentation of active enrollment in an accredited Early Childhood Education degree program.
- Previous experience working with preschool or PreK-aged children.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate and play-based early childhood practices.
- Experience with observations, assessments, lesson planning, and documentation.
- Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and classroom leadership skills.
- Must meet all ECECD licensing and background-check requirements.
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
