The Clinical Dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide patient focused nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient's medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocols/guidelines; assuring customer needs and satisfaction are met and/or exceeded; managing resources in a cost effective manner; participating in performance improvement efforts; and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

Job Summary
As a Clinical Dietitian, you’ll play a key role in helping patients feel their best through personalized nutrition care. Your expertise will not only ensure patients receive nourishment aligned with their medical needs, but will also bring a compassionate touch to the healing journey. You’ll work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create nutrition plans that support healing and wellness. Therefore, through the provision of wholesome, healthy foods, you will become an invaluable partner in fostering physical recovery for patients in the hospital.
Accountability for the following:
- Conducts a nutrition assessment for patients at nutritional risk within required time frames.
- Obtains timely and appropriate data and analyzes/interprets data based on evidence-based standards.
- Provides appropriate documentation that summarizes the nutrition care plan in the patient's
medical record, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, plan/goals, implementation, andprogress toward goals.
- Participates in multidisciplinary care conferences and discharge planning activities as
appropriate. Works closely with other disciplines including OT, PT, speech and social servicesto insure continuity of care.problem with the patient's medical team.intervention, including enteral and parenteral nutrition.guidelines.populations as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.accuracy of diet prescriptions and high level of customer satisfaction/scores.patients for outpatient counseling, community resources or home services as appropriate.information for scheduling and billing of ambulatory care services.preceptor to dietetic students and interns.
