We are currently seeking a full-time Director of Rehabilitation to lead a respected hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation department. Position Overview
The Director of Rehabilitation will oversee the clinical and operational functions of the rehabilitation department while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary therapy team and collaborate with hospital administration, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support excellent patient outcomes and departmental growth.
Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight of daily rehabilitation department operations.

Lead, mentor, and support Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, therapy assistants, and support staff.

Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, caseload management, and departmental performance.

Ensure the delivery of evidence-based rehabilitation services and high-quality patient care.

Monitor patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and departmental performance metrics.

Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals.

Collaborate with physicians, hospital leadership, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.

Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of rehabilitation staff.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state licensure requirements, regulatory standards, and professional standards of care.

Support departmental budgeting, program development, and operational planning.

Maintain appropriate documentation, reporting, and compliance standards.

Provide direct patient care as needed within the scope of licensure.
Requirements
-
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Current state Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure.

Previous experience in a hospital-based, outpatient, orthopedic, or rehabilitation setting required.

Previous leadership, supervisory, or rehabilitation management experience strongly preferred.

Strong clinical reasoning, leadership, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to effectively lead a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Strong understanding of productivity, quality improvement, and departmental operations.

Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain.
