CWC seeks a dedicated Logistics Coordinator, "LC" to supervise and process outbound freight (LTL/DV/FB). This does not include any forklift operation or loading/unloading of material of any kind. The ideal candidate will have two to three years of experience working with warehousing, supply chain, transportation, and product distribution teams. The LC will implement team cost-cutting, problem-solving and efficiency measures. The LC will collaborate with others to achieve optimal productivity on the Logistics Team and will operate out of our offices in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Core Responsibilities:
The LC will:
- Monitor and direct all outbound LTL and truckload freight from warehouse
- Develop strong business relationships with carriers, brokers, key customers, and sales reps
- Build and develop processes, techniques, and strategies to improve workflow
- Drive cost saving initiatives to align with company goals
- Ensure logistics services comply with all existing regulations (Dept of Transportation, US/International)
- Participate in daily call(s) with warehouse and sales teams
- Conduct periodic freight analysis to identify improvement opportunities
- Carrier management: determine most efficient and economical routing for outbound shipments; handle carrier negotiations
- Create BOL, and Packing Lists
- Track all outbound orders
- Work closely with Order Expeditor to ensure all orders are prepped and staged as scheduled
- Monitor and keep record of all outbound freight (# of orders, weight)
- Ensure all outbound freight is properly weighed and priced
- Communicate with sales on necessary hot outbound items
- Maintain facility security integrity, including setting alarms, and locking doors when facility is not operational
- Focus on professional development; attend training related to position and to skill enhancement
- Assist in any other projects that may
- Assist senior leaders and the Logistics Supervisor with additional tasks and duties, as needed
