Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals across various age groups who experience speech, language, communication, or swallowing disorders. Whether working in-person or via telehealth platforms, you will deliver personalized therapy plans that promote effective communication and improve quality of life. Your expertise will support a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, early intervention cases, and geriatric patients, ensuring comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing challenges using standardized tools and clinical observations
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, including goals for speech therapy and communication improvement
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions through direct interaction or telehealth platforms, utilizing evidence-based techniques and interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as physicians, educators, and caregivers to coordinate care strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, session notes, and treatment outcomes within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, strategies, and assistive devices to support ongoing progress at home or in educational settings
- Stay current with advancements in physiology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and best practices in speech therapy to enhance patient care
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) from an accredited professional body
- Prior school experience or work with children in pediatric or early intervention settings preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities across the lifespan, including geriatric patients
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech production and swallowing functions
- Proven ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record keeping
- Telehealth therapy experience is highly desirable; ability to adapt therapy methods for virtual delivery is essential
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations
