Part-Time Bookstore Associate

Book Nook is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re looking for a reliable, friendly, and motivated person to join our team.
We’re a community-focused used bookstore with thousands of books, longtime customers, and a goal of creating a welcoming, whimsical place where people can browse, discover, and enjoy their time.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. Along with helping customers and processing purchases, team members help organize books, maintain the store, support inventory, create displays, and assist with events and ongoing improvement projects.
Position Details
- Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
- Shifts available Monday through Saturday
- Daytime availability preferred
- Glen Burnie, Maryland
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and help them locate books
- Operate the checkout system and process purchases
- Sort, price, shelve, and organize books
- Evaluate incoming books using store guidelines
- Keep shelves, aisles, and work areas clean and organized
- Assist with displays, promotions, events, and social-media content
- Complete opening, closing, and inventory tasks
- Support new technology and store systems as they are introduced
- Help with bookstore projects during quieter periods

- Able to follow procedures and complete detailed tasks accurately
- Interested in books, learning, retail, or community service
- Comfortable learning new technology and inventory systems
- Able to safely lift and move boxes of books, with reasonable accommodations available
Previous bookstore or retail experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.
