Position: Literacy Assistant
Type: Part-Time (8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.) or Full-Time (9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.)
Locations: Indian Land & Rock Hill
Minimum Requirements: At least 2 years of teaching experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Head Literacy Specialist to integrate reading and writing instruction across preschool through kindergarten classrooms
- Deliver targeted literacy instruction through small groups, intervention sessions, and in-class support (push-in model)
- Partner with classroom teachers to plan and implement effective literacy lessons, including shared reading, journaling, and guided reading
- Contribute to the development and success of school-wide literacy initiatives such as the Mystery Reader program, seasonal book fairs, and Literacy Minutes
- Design and facilitate professional development sessions for educators focused on literacy instruction, assessment strategies, and instructional resources
- Track and monitor literacy progress in all Primary, Transitional Kindergarten (TK), and Kindergarten classrooms; maintain accurate documentation of interventions and student outcomes
- Administer Fountas & Pinnell reading assessments and assist with maintaining student literacy folders
- Conduct regular classroom literacy observations and provide constructive, actionable feedback to educators
- Review and provide feedback on weekly literacy lesson plans for P–K teachers
- Communicate and engage with families to offer resources that support literacy development at home
