The Student Services Coordinator serves as a certified instructional leader who supports the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental well-being of students at Decatur Township School for Excellence. Working collaboratively with the Director of DTSE, the Student Services Coordinator provides leadership in student behavior, attendance, school safety, student wellness, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), family engagement, and community partnerships to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Promote students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental wellness.

Provide individual or small-group counseling as appropriate and coordinate crisis intervention, including suicide risk assessments and safety planning.

Support student well-being through prevention initiatives, restorative practices, and evidence-based interventions.

Coordinate student support services by connecting students and families with school and community resources.

Support the Director of DTSE in implementing schoolwide behavior expectations and student discipline.

Investigate student misconduct and recommend disciplinary actions aligned with district policy and restorative practices.

Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive school culture that promotes accountability, engagement, and belonging.

Maintain accurate documentation related to student behavior and interventions.

Lead attendance improvement efforts and communicate student needs with the Director.

Conduct attendance conferences, home visits, and develop Student Success Plans to reduce barriers to learning.

Serve as the school's McKinney-Vento Liaison.

Lead the school's MTSS process by facilitating Student Support Team meetings, monitoring interventions, and collaborating with staff to improve student outcomes.

Participate in Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and Case Conference meetings as a student support resource.

Build collaborative relationships with students, families, and staff.

Coordinate services with community agencies including mental health providers, the Drug-Free Coalition, DCS, Juvenile Probation, law enforcement, and wraparound partners.

Support families by connecting them with resources that improve student success and well-being.

Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, Behavioral Threat Assessment Team, Crisis Response Team, and Safety Committee.

Coordinate school safety initiatives, emergency preparedness activities, and collaborate with School Resource Officers.

Support daily student operations and behavioral expectations throughout the building.

Coordinate virtual learning supports and assist with state and local testing.

Represent DTSE at district meetings, school functions, and community events.

Serve on behalf of the Director of DTSE, as assigned, to ensure continuity of school leadership and operations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Valid Indiana Teaching License.

Knowledge of restorative practices, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.

Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff.

Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, attendance improvement, MTSS leadership, McKinney-Vento services, and collaboration with community agencies.

Indiana Administrative License.

Indiana School Social Worker License, LSW, or LCSW.
