Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of an apartment community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leasing, delinquency, marketing, outreach, compliance, and ensuring the long-term success and retention of our residents. This role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service, and hands-on property management experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee daily operations of the apartment community while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Develop, plan, and implement operational procedures to ensure efficient property management.
- Manage record keeping, reporting, rent collections, rent postings, and bank deposits.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost control procedures to ensure budget compliance.
- Supervise maintenance operations, resident services, customer service, and make-ready processes.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships.
- Oversee all leasing activities, lease renewals, resident selection, and approval processes.
- Coordinate marketing and outreach efforts with neighborhood groups, community organizations, and health agencies.
- Ensure timely follow-up with prospects, current residents, lease renewals, and service requests to support resident retention goals.
- Complete LIHTC recertifications and renewals while ensuring compliance with HUD and program guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Regional Management and Area Leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1–3 years of property management experience in a managerial role required.
- Strong knowledge of property bookkeeping and financial operations.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with county officials, community agencies, and social service organizations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; Yardi experience highly preferred.
- Self-motivated, organized, and dependable.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
