Elliott Bay Distributing Co. is a local, independently owned beverage wholesaler located in SODO. We have been in business 40+ years and have an extremely high reputation in our industry. We are seeking a reliable, experienced relief driver/ merchandiser. A clean driving record is required for this relief delivery driver/merchandiser position.
HOURS:
· Full-Time
Full-Time: ~ 40hours/week Tuesday-Friday 6:00AM to 4:00PM
Part-Time:
· Day begins in the very early morning and ends in the afternoon, hours vary on a day to day basis.
· Flexibility is key to this position to cover what is needed on a day to day basis.
· NOT a seasonal position.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
· The capacity to lift heavy packages (~50+ Ibs) repeatedly.
·
· The capacity to load and unload goods safely, and to maneuver a hand truck.
Safe driving skills, and the ability to drive an 18-foot cargo van (no special certifications needed).
A strong attention to detail to fulfill orders correctly.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· The ability to manage time well and work efficiently, including managing delivery cut- offs, and determining which accounts require merchandising, varied on a daily basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to:
Driving a pre-determined route, delivering to our existing customer base.
· Following delivery and account-specific instructions to deliver orders in a correct and timely manner, including additional health and safety guidelines.
· Merchandising product in stores by accurately and conscientiously putting away wine deliveries in various locations throughout the store, displaying the product in a tidy and professional manner. Following the directions specified by the sales rep, or wine person at the location.
· Effectively communicating with sales staff and office staff, notifying the appropriate contacts of any issues or questions immediately.
·Pulling orders for delivery by navigating a large warehouse.
TO SUCCESSFULLY SECURE THIS OPPORTUNITY, YOU MUST:
· Have a clean driving record for the last three years.
· Be at least 21 years old.
Previous delivery/merchandising and/or experience is preferred.
· Be reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
· Have the ability to interact positively with a variety of customers.
· Have no criminal record.
· Be flexible and willing to problem-solve as part of the team.
· Have a great attitude and strong work ethic.
Compensation will be based on experience; medical, dental and vision benefits will be included as part of full-time employment.
