Job Description:
Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: Bellingham, WA 98225
Weekly Pay: Up to $2200 weekly! (Negotiable - Pay is based on experience and educational qualifications)
Job Type: Travel Contract (Also accepting locals)
Duration: Contract – 13 weeks (possibility of extension)
Shift/ Schedule: 5x8 day shift - 40 hrs. a week (32 hrs. guaranteed)
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve functional mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), upper extremity function, and cognitive performance.
- Fabricate splints and provide training in adaptive equipment, functional transfers, feeding, swallowing, and stress management techniques as appropriate.
- Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans, and document evaluations, interventions, goals, and discharge plans in accordance with facility standards.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, safety, and use of assistive devices.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care, facilitate discharge planning, and recommend additional services when appropriate.
- Maintain therapy equipment, treatment areas, and supplies while following infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and community outreach programs to support excellence in rehabilitation services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as an occupational therapist.
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Washington.
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy evaluation and treatment techniques across multiple patient populations.
