Title: Loan Officer
Department: Loans
Reports to: SBA Loan Underwriting Manager
Overview:
Responsible for underwriting and closing secured and unsecured commercial, SBA, and USDA loans in accordance with established lending objectives, policies and procedures. Establish, maintain and maximize relationships with existing and potential customers. Profitably grow loans, deposits and fees. Analyze and monitor credit quality on all loans to ensure that credit quality standards comply with required standards.
Essential Duties:
- Place the order for appraisals, credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to the evaluation of loan applications.
- Analyze applicant’s financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine credit worthiness.
- Counsel customer on the types and terms of loans offered, and which would best meet their credit needs.
- Make recommendation presentations to credit committee.
- Perform existing portfolio maintenance including servicing and following up on past dues.
- Maintain current customer relationships, which include periodic visits and phone calls based on customer needs.
- Collect on delinquent accounts in a timely manner according to bank guidelines.
- Develop and negotiate revised loan repayment terms as necessary.
- Ensure the bank is maintaining proper OFAC compliance on all guarantors before disbursing loan proceeds.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of position related regulations as well as staying knowledgeable on bank products and services.
- Maintain compliance with Bank policies and procedures, in addition to federal and state regulations.
- Perform all duties in compliance with BSA/AML regulations and requirements.
- Monitor and report all suspicious activity to the BSA officer.

- Obtains adequate data for CIP on all wire and money instrument transactions
- Monitors and reports suspicious activity to the BSA Officer

- Familiar with the reporting requirements pertaining to currency transactions, cash purchase monetary instruments, wire transfers and opening of an account
- Exhibits adequate knowledge of regulations governing consumer laws pertaining to deposits or loans products
- Knows where and to whom any "suspicious" activity should be reported

Education/Previous Work Experience:
- Bachelors degree (preferably in Finance) or equivalent
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization
- Bilingual skills in reading writing and speaking - English/Korean, English/Chinese, or English/Vietnamese
