Gardening Crew Member
Job Summary
The Gardening Crew Member is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of outdoor living spaces. Their primary duties include performing assigned gardening tasks as directed by the crew leader, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest quality standards. They are also responsible for providing support to the crew leader and other team members, maintaining a positive and professional attitude, and adhering to all safety guidelines. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

Minimum one year experience in the landscape garden industry preferred

Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner

Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs

Time management skills

Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team

Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time
-
Able to work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
Responsibilities:

Sowing, cultivation, and propagation of plants, trees, and shrubs
- Application of chemical and organic herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers

Trimming and pruning of plants

Soil management activities

Weeding and garden bed upkeep

Dig, lift, operate small machines
-
Load tools and equipment on and off trailers and trucks
-
Move and install soil, mulch, and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas

Work strategically to perform tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively

Work with urgency and purpose

Communicate with customers in a professional, polite, and courteous manner
