JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Educational Assistant IIIC (EAIIIC): Teen Parent Advocate is directly supervised by the ELECT (Education Leading to Employment and Career Training) Program Manager. This role provides case management services to all pregnant/parenting teens enrolled in the program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provides case management services to all pregnant/parenting teens enrolled in the ELECT Teen Parenting Programs.
2. Provides support and referral services for teen parents.
3. Networks with school nurses, school social workers, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
4. Serves as the liaison with school Student Assistance Program (SAP) Core Team for education/prevention services for teen parents.
5. Provides information on home study/homebound for eligible pregnant/parenting teens.
6. Conducts home visits to students enrolled in the program.
7. Delivers mandated services according to the ELECT Grant Guidelines which includes vocational/career planning, student assessment and individualized plans; instruction/information on health care; nutrition; budgeting; family planning; domestic violence and other issues that may affect pregnant and parenting teens.
8. Develops and maintains individual files on all students enrolled in the program. Files include: service plans, ongoing case management documentation, academic/attendance records, and information as mandated by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Education.
9. Submits monthly attendance records: Activity Tracking Forms, Participant Intake Forms, Pregnancy Outcome Forms, Teen Parent Child Follow-up Forms, and Participant Follow-up Forms to Program Director.
10. Maintains on-going contact with Program Director; attends monthly training meetings at the ELECT Program's main office; attends school-based Core Team meetings as scheduled.
11. Other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor in support of the department or school’s goals and objectives and the District’s mission and Superintendent’s Priority Goals.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
48 College Credits OR High School Diploma/GED and successful completion of a reading and math competency assessment

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years implementing teen parent programming with an emphasis on at risk teen fathers preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
REQUIRED:
1. A Valid PA Driver's License and access to an automobile for mandatory home visits.
2. Experience with community and social service agency providers.
PREFERRED:
1. Spanish language proficiency
2. A college degree in a field related to Teen Parenting.
3. Knowledge and empathy for the unique needs of pregnant and parenting teens.
4. Understanding of the challenges and needs of pregnant/parenting at risk teens.
5. Committed and resilient towards the success of pregnant/parenting teens.
6. Ability to multitask, problem solve, be creative and think strategically for program development.
7. Experience with recruiting pregnant/parents teens for programming.
8. Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
9. Ability to communicate with diverse populations; students, parents, community partners.
10. Enthusiastic about the fundamental goal of advancing student achievement in an urban public school district.
11. Value, demonstrate, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion .
