The Crime Victims Center (CVC) is the leading provider of comprehensive trauma-informed victim support services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, all violent crimes, and elderly, minor, and disabled victims of property crime in Suffolk County. The organization provides sexual assault forensic examiner services and rape crisis counselor response for acute sexual assault victims who present at emergency departments.
The CVC has a robust prevention education program and provides in-person evidence based or evidence informed curriculum based workshops to children, tweens, teens, young adults and community members.
The CVC is seeking a full-time Prevention Program Coordinator to work collaboratively with public and private schools, community organizations, and other partners to coordinate and deliver prevention education programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, and outreach skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships across diverse communities. This position requires that the candidate become a NYS certified Rape Crisis Counselor (RCC) and respond on call to acute sexual assault victims. Training is provided by the CVC.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of public speaking experience, including presenting workshops, trainings, or educational programs to groups of varying sizes.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for preventing domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of victimization.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with Long Island public and private school districts, colleges, PTAs, community organizations, government agencies, and members of the public to coordinate and deliver prevention education programs.
- Comfortable presenting educational programs to children, adolescents, and adults.
- Participate in community outreach, educational events, and awareness campaigns.
- Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
- Sales and marketing experience is a plus, as the role includes promoting programs and encouraging schools and community organizations to schedule presentations.
- Assist with the training and mentorship of new prevention educators.
- Goal-oriented with a proven ability to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating professional infographics, social media content and PowerPoint presentations is required. Applicants must provide samples of their work, a portfolio, or other proof demonstrating their experience and proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation required. Travel throughout Long Island is necessary; mileage and gas expenses are included in compensation.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend programs, meetings, and events.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation to respond to acute sexual assault victims at Suffolk County hospitals, no more than twice per week.
