We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments and assist with administrative tasks as needed, including managing patient records using dental software systems like Dentrix Ascend.
- Support pediatric dentistry efforts by providing compassionate care to young patients.
- Stay updated on dental terminology and procedures to assist effectively during treatments.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is mandatory
- Knowledge of infection control practices in a dental setting is essential.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques is a plus.
- Ability to take vital signs and understand medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix Ascend is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and HIPAA regulations is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and adapting to various tasks within the practice.
