Project Overview
Groove for Good is a teen band music competition and fundraising event that brings together young musicians from across the Bay Area to perform while raising funds to support leadership development programs for underserved children.
We are looking for motivated interns to help build and grow this exciting community-driven event.
Role Overview:
The Project Intern – Groove for Good at Enabling Leadership will support in conducting marketing and outreach activities for the event.Groove for Good, a teen band music competition and fundraising initiative in the San Francisco Bay Area. The intern will play an active role in identifying and recruiting youth bands, engaging with schools, music studios, and community organizations, and supporting participating bands in their fundraising efforts. The role also involves assisting with marketing outreach, exploring sponsorship opportunities with local businesses and partners, and contributing to the overall coordination and logistics of the event. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community outreach, event management, and social impact while helping create meaningful opportunities that support leadership development programs for underserved children.
Location:San Francisco Bay Area
Duration: : 3–4 months (Part-time, flexible)
Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Interns will be responsible for the following activities:
Band Outreach & Recruitment
- Research and identify teen pop, rock, and jazz bands across the Bay Area.
- Contact schools, music schools, studios, and youth music programs to introduce Groove for Good.
- Schedule and attend meetings with music teachers and school administrators to recruit bands.
Band Support & Fundraising
- Guide participating bands on fundraising strategies and outreach ideas.
- Encourage and mentor bands as they run their fundraising campaigns.
Marketing & Community Outreach
- Promote Groove for Good through on-the-ground outreach at schools, music studios, and community spaces.
- Support local promotion through flyers, social media, and school/community networks.
Sponsorship & Partnerships
- Identify potential event sponsors such as music schools, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Support outreach to sponsors and help schedule introductory meetings.
Event Preparation
- Assist with planning and coordination of the Groove for Good event.
- Help support band coordination and event-day logistics.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong communication and outreach skills
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable with community engagement
- Interest in music, youth leadership, or nonprofit work
- Time Commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours per week, with a mix of remote work and local outreach.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for undergraduate or graduate students (ages 19–26) studying fields such as business, marketing, communications, entrepreneurship, or music/arts management. Students who enjoy community outreach, music, and social impact initiatives are encouraged to apply.

Certification
