Job Summary
Medpro Pharmacy is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Journal Square, Jersey City.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a retail or community pharmacy, knows how to use PrimeRx pharmacy software, communicates professionally with patients, and can work accurately in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive and enter prescriptions accurately using PrimeRx
- Assist the pharmacist with prescription preparation and processing
- Process insurance claims and help resolve claim rejections
- Communicate with patients, prescribers, and insurance companies
- Answer telephone calls and respond to customer questions professionally
- Manage prescription pickups and point-of-sale transactions
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
- Organize medications, supplies, and pharmacy inventory
- Monitor medication stock levels and expiration dates
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and shelving inventory
- Keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and compliant
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties under the pharmacist’s supervision
Qualifications
- Experience using PrimeRx pharmacy software is required
- Previous retail or community-pharmacy experience preferred
- New Jersey Pharmacy Technician registration preferred
- PTCB certification is a plus
- Experience with prescription processing and insurance billing preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
