BUILDING SUBSTITUTE TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: School Principal
Job Summary:
This position reports directly to the School Principal. Performs general office/student support duties and any combination of the below listed essential duties and responsibilities in the classroom to assist teaching staff and Administration
Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Actual work assignments may vary from depending on the directions of the school administration. Other duties may be assigned.

Instructs and guides students to reinforce English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and other skills

Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement assigned programs

Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs

Utilizes classroom behavioral management systems to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task

Monitors students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs and other related non-instructional areas

Assists students in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement of IEP objectives, etc.

Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students
Education and Experience:

Minimum undergraduate degree preferred

Communication skills necessary to interact with families, students, staff and visitors of ISAAC.

Experience working with secondary students or students who are at-risk, educationally disadvantaged, and/or possess a variety of disabilities preferred.
