Duties
- Observe and monitor pediatric patients’ health status, including vital signs and behavioral cues, ensuring safety at all times
- Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Support children with developmental disabilities
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, and hospice-related tasks as required by healthcare plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding when needed, ensuring proper nutrition for growing children
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment to promote overall well-being and comfort
Requirements
- Proven experience in pediatric or senior home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation procedures
- Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), first aid, and any state-specific caregiving licenses preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly valued
- Ability to operate documentation system efficiently for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude combined with the energy to engage actively with children requiring specialized care
- Must be able to work in a home where they smoke
