Position Summary
GeoSurfaces is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Truck Driver to transport equipment and materials to and from jobsites throughout Louisiana and Arkansas.
This is a full-time position that typically operates Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work based on project and operational needs. The role may also require occasional overnight stays in Arkansas.
The successful candidate will have a strong driving record, knowledge of commercial vehicle safety requirements, and the ability to properly inspect vehicles, secure cargo, maintain required documentation, and communicate effectively with supervisors and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Transport equipment and materials safely and efficiently to and from jobsites throughout Louisiana and Arkansas.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed.
- Follow proper loading procedures and use chains, binders, and other appropriate equipment to secure cargo.
- Inspect and recheck load stability and cargo securement throughout each trip.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including inspections of brakes, steering, lights, mirrors, tires, and other safety equipment.
- Inspect trailers before and after loading, including air lines, connections, and jack positions.
- Visit weigh stations as required to verify that loads comply with applicable state and federal safety regulations.
- Make or coordinate necessary load adjustments when weight or securement concerns are identified.
- Comply with all applicable traffic laws, Department of Transportation regulations, and company transportation policies.
- Exercise appropriate caution in hazardous weather, traffic, road, and jobsite conditions.
- Report unsafe vehicle conditions, road conditions, accidents, delays, and transportation concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Use GPS, routing systems, and communication tools to monitor route information and communicate delays or route changes.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection records, delivery documentation, and other required transportation records.
- Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, field teams, warehouse personnel, and jobsite representatives.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Report vehicle maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, contractors, vendors, and members of the public.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License required.
- Minimum of one year of CDL driving experience required.
- Two or more years of CDL driving experience preferred.
- Qualification to operate vehicles equipped with air brakes preferred.
- Experience transporting construction equipment, materials, or secured loads preferred.
- Knowledge of cargo-securement procedures, including the proper use of chains and binders.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle inspections and safe driving practices.
- Ability to understand and comply with applicable DOT requirements.
- Ability to operate safely in changing weather, traffic, road, and jobsite conditions.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Technical Skills and Core Competencies
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and related transportation equipment.
- Knowledge of pre-trip and post-trip inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of load distribution, weight limits, and cargo-securement practices.
- Ability to use GPS navigation, routing systems, and mobile communication tools.
- Ability to maintain accurate logs, inspection records, and delivery documentation.
- Strong time-management and route-planning abilities.

Additional Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid CDL and an acceptable driving record.
- Must meet all applicable federal and state requirements for operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout Louisiana and Arkansas.
- Must be available for occasional overnight stays in Arkansas.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday and occasional weekends based on operational needs.
- Must be able to assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and at active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
- Must be willing to complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening in accordance with applicable laws.

Work Environment
This position primarily involves operating commercial vehicles and working at construction sites, warehouses, equipment yards, and delivery locations. The role requires regional driving, regular entry into and exit from commercial vehicles, and occasional assistance with loading and unloading.
Drivers may encounter varying weather, traffic, road, and jobsite conditions and must consistently follow applicable safety requirements. Occasional overnight travel and weekend work may be required based on project schedules and operational needs.
