Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director / Supervising Physician to support our growing telehealth MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) program for opioid use disorder. This is a fully remote, part-time, flexible role focused on providing clinical oversight, ensuring high-quality care, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
You will oversee clinical operations, support our nurse practitioners, help refine clinical protocols, and ensure safe, compliant delivery of MAT services. This role is ideal for a physician who values flexibility and prefers a low-volume oversight position rather than intensive clinical work.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to Nurse Practitioners delivering OUD/MAT care via telehealth.
- Review and co-sign charts as required by state and federal regulations.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, patient safety guidelines, and applicable telemedicine standards.
- Participate in brief, periodic virtual meetings related to clinical oversight or quality reviews.
- Support development and refinement of MAT clinical protocols and workflows.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DEA regulations, and state medical board requirements.
- Optional: Provide limited direct patient visits via telemedicine if desired (additional compensation provided).
Qualifications
- MD or DO with an active Colorado medical license (required).
- Active DEA registration (required).
- OUD/MAT experience is preferred
- Previous supervisory or collaborative practice experience is helpful but not mandatory.
- Comfortable using EHR systems and basic telemedicine platforms.
- Strong communication skills and an interest in supporting evidence-based addiction treatment.
