Job Title: Spanish Language and Culture Teacher
Supervisor: Academic Director
Job Summary: Provide classroom instruction in Spanish Language and Culture.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish language and culture to K-8 students.
- Incorporate Spanish culture into class activities.
- Infuse the Minnesota primary and intermediate graduation standards for foreign language into the ongoing curriculum.
- Develop cultural curriculum materials and instrcutional strategies for elementary students.
- Incorporate hands-on learning activities into daily instruction.
- Communicate often with parents regarding the program goals, classroom activities, and student progress.
- Provide a safe classroom environment for students.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, administrator, and other staff to ensure the success of students.
Preferred:
- Native proficiency in reading and writing in the Spanish and English Languages.
- Successful elementary or middle school teaching experience.
- Ability to implement creative and innovative teaching strategies.
- Good organizational skills.
- Flexibility relating to student and program needs.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Work cooperatively with parents as educational partners.
- Commitment to the philosophy that all children can learn.
- Commitment to teamwork within an educational setting.
- Ability to write curriculum appropriate to student levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $44,954.35 per year
