Helen Plum Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join the team in Studio 411, HPL’s makerspace. Do you love helping people bring ideas to life? We are looking for a creative, approachable team member to help patrons explore everything from 3D printing and laser cutting to sewing, audio production, and more. If you enjoy teaching, problem-solving, and working with your hands (and want to do all of that in a fun, library setting), we think you'd be a good fit.

Creates and maintains an environment of continuous learning and exploration for Studio 411 users
- Promotes a culture of creativity within the Library and Lombard community

As part of a team approach, develops and presents programs in Studio 411

Assists patrons utilizing Studio 411, including facilitating appointments and helping during drop-in hours

Promotes Library services, programs, and resources

Operates and maintains Studio 411 equipment

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or LTA
-
Available to work on evenings and weekends

Experience with creative projects like sewing, knitting, quilting, 3D printing, laser cutting, audio production or any other creative projects related to the maker environment

Flexible and able to work with patrons of all skill levels

Eagerness to learn

Strong computer and technology-based skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to provide instructional based programming

Previous experience working in a library makerspace or presenting maker-based library programs.
