Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, including ballet, theater dance, and other styles.
- Lead engaging dance classes that promote proper technique, coordination, flexibility, and artistic expression.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to help students improve their skills and achieve their goals.
- Incorporate elements of choreography, performance preparation, and stage presence into lessons to boost confidence.
- Plan special events such as recitals or showcases that highlight student progress and celebrate achievements.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, progress reports, and lesson plans aligned with educational standards.
Skills
- Strong background in dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, or contemporary movement with experience in choreography.
- Excellent classroom management skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Proven ability to work with children and adults across diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to individual needs.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to incorporate creative elements like photography or sewing into dance projects or costumes when relevant.
