Job Overview
Reliable and safety-focused Non-CDL Hot Shot Truck Driver with experience transporting time-sensitive freight throughout the continental United States using a Ram 3500 truck and 40-foot trailer. Experienced in safely operating and maneuvering truck and trailer combinations across diverse road and weather conditions while ensuring on-time deliveries. Accustomed to extended travel periods, including overnight stays on the road with sleeper accommodations consisting of a mattress setup in the truck. Duties
- Transport freight and equipment throughout the United States.
- Operate a Ram 3500 truck with a 40-foot trailer safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Secure loads using proper tie-downs, straps, and safety procedures.
- Follow planned routes and manage delivery schedules to meet customer and business deadlines.
- Maintain accurate logs, receipts, and delivery documentation.
- Monitor vehicle condition and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Live and travel on the road for extended periods, utilizing truck sleeper arrangements during interstate trips.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatchers regarding load status, route updates, delays, and delivery confirmations to ensure efficient operations.
- Adapt to changing schedules, weather conditions, and customer requirements while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Provide excellent customer service during pickups and deliveries while representing the company in a professional manner.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving with a focus on route driving and customer service excellence
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including manual handling, moving supplies, and operating material and handling equipment as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating large trucks or commercial trucks preferred but not required for non-CDL drivers.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting techniques
- Strong knowledge of traffic regulations, DOT guidelines, and safe driving practices on busy roads
- Comfortable using mobile devices for navigation, route updates, and communication purposes
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize deliveries efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
