Business Operations ApprenticeBuild Your Career. Learn AI. Get Real-World Business Experience.
ING Holdings, Inc. | Huntington Beach, CA
$18/hour | 25 Hours/Week | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–2:00 PM | In Person
Your first job shouldn't just give you a paycheck. It should give you a head start.
If you're at the beginning of your career and want to learn how businesses actually operate, this is an opportunity to get inside the room and start learning.
You'll work directly with the founder of ING Holdings and gain hands-on exposure to business operations, entrepreneurship, AI, customer service, sales, marketing, e-commerce, logistics, and more.
No, we don't expect you to already know how to do all of that.
That's the point.
We're looking for someone smart, curious, dependable, and ambitious who wants an opportunity to learn.
We'll teach you.
Your job is to pay attention, ask questions, retain what you learn, take initiative, and get better every week.
Where This Can Lead
We're not hiring someone because we need an intern for the summer.
We're looking for someone we can invest in.
This position is designed to give you real responsibility while allowing us to discover what you're naturally good at.
Maybe that's operations.
Maybe it's sales.
Maybe you're great with customers.
Maybe you discover you're exceptional at AI.
Maybe you have an eye for marketing, photography, editing, organization, technology, or something neither of us knows yet.
We want to find out.
Perform exceptionally well, and our goal is for this opportunity to develop into a permanent position with ING Holdings based on your abilities, interests, and the needs of the company.
What You'll Actually Do
You'll start by learning the fundamentals of how our businesses operate.
That may include:
- Assisting with day-to-day business and administrative tasks
- Answering phones and learning professional customer communication
- Responding to customer and social media inquiries
- Packaging and shipping customer orders
- Organizing inventory, files, and business information
- Assisting with executive and personal-assistant tasks
- Using AI tools to research, write, organize, and solve problems
- Learning our CRM and other business software
- Supporting sales and customer follow-up
- Helping prepare for meetings
- Assisting with photography, marketing, or Canva if that's one of your strengths
- Completing research projects
- Processing returns and handling occasional local business errands
- Identifying ways we can make repetitive processes better
Some of the work will be exciting.
Some of it will be repetitive.
That's real business.
The person who learns to handle the small things exceptionally well earns the opportunity to handle much bigger things.
You'll Learn How AI Is Actually Used in Business
We use AI extensively throughout our companies.
You'll be encouraged to use it too.
But there's an important difference between using AI and letting AI do your thinking for you.
You can use AI to help research, brainstorm, draft, edit, organize, and work faster.
But when you submit something to your supervisor, you own the quality of what you submit.
That means reading it.
Editing it.
Checking the grammar.
Checking the facts.
Making sure it makes sense.
And making sure you're proud to put your name on it.
We aren't expecting perfection from someone beginning their career.
We are expecting effort, judgment, and improvement.
Strong English & Writing Skills Are Required
You don't need to be a professional writer, but you must be able to communicate clearly in English and recognize when something isn't written well.
You should have:
- Strong written and spoken English
- Good grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- The ability to write a professional email or customer message
- The ability to edit and improve written material
- Strong reading comprehension
- Attention to detail
- The ability to review your own work before submitting it
The Person We're Looking For
Your résumé doesn't need to be impressive yet.
You do.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Curious
- Competitive
- Dependable
- Professional
- Observant
- Resourceful
- Organized
- Comfortable with technology
- Willing to ask questions
- Able to learn from feedback
- Someone who takes initiative instead of constantly waiting to be told what to do
College students and people just entering the workforce are encouraged to apply.
If you're studying business, entrepreneurship, engineering, marketing, technology, communications, or another related field, great.
But your attitude and potential matter more to us than the name of your major.
A Few Non-Negotiables
Be on time.
Show up looking professional. You don't need a suit—but this is a business, not your living room.
Pay attention.
Ask questions when you don't understand something.
Don't make someone teach you the same thing over and over because you weren't listening.
Take initiative.
Use your phone appropriately while you're working.
And when you make a mistake—and you will—learn from it.
