POSITION SUMMARY/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are searching for an Individual Giving Manager to become a key member of our Development team, providing critical management, insight and energy as we build on our mission to steward this special place for generations to come.
Working in close support of the Sr. Director of Philanthropic Strategies and Programs, the Individual Giving Manager provides programmatic and administrative management of the Museum’s annual, mid-level, and membership giving programs. This role focuses strategically on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors who give under $10,000 annually, while optimizing the membership program as a primary engine for donor acquisition. Key responsibilities include oversight of annual giving campaigns, stewardship of donors, building a familiarity with donors, and providing appropriate reporting to ensure success of individual giving efforts.
This position is also responsible for:
- ·Working with the Sr. Director to plan, develop and execute all annual campaigns, including direct mail, digital marketing, and new donor prospecting
- Assisting in developing annual fundraising budgets and projections for individual giving and membership channels
- Developing and executing targeted strategies to upgrade general members to annual donors, and move annual donors into mid-level giving circles ($1,000 to $9,999)
- Overseeing and expanding the Museum’s recurring (monthly) giving program to improve donor retention and lifetime value
- Working with the Sr. Director to complete the Museum’s quarterly newsletter
- Interfacing with Marketing to ensure collaborative communication, digital fundraising, and multichannel annual appeal strategies
- Managing stewardship initiatives for annual and mid-level donors, including donor recognition events and communications
- Initiating and preparing donor acknowledgements, pledge reminders, custom letters, and other donor correspondence
- Serving as the direct supervisor/manager to members of the Development Team, including the Development Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, and Donor Engagement and Database Specialist, to ensure proper tracking of all annual and membership gifts and pledges
- Analyzing donor and member data to monitor retention rates, renewal cycles, and annual campaign performance to inform future fundraising strategies
- Partnering with the Major Giving and Campaign Operations Manager to identify and seamlessly transition individual donors ready for major gift portfolios ($10,000+)
- Providing event planning support, including for the Museum’s annual Gala
- Working with outside contractors to complete annual mailings and appeals as needed
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years of development or philanthropic experience, with a focus on individual giving, annual funds, or membership programs preferred
- Demonstrated experience or familiarity with mid-level donor cultivation ($1,000 to $10,000 portfolio management) is a plus
- Direct mail and digital appeal experience preferred
- Experience using Raiser's Edge or other CRM products
- Adept in the use of computer programs including the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Mail Merge)
- Strong command over written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and effectively handle multiple competing projects with an eye on deadlines and goals
- Collaborative team player with a can-do attitude
- Requires flexibility of schedule to accommodate needs of the organization, which may include weekend and evening events on occasion
- Must be comfortable meeting members and donors, representing Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum and partnering organizations
COMPENSATION RANGE
- $65,000 - $75,00 annually – placement in pay range commensurate with meeting qualifications and overall experience
