JOB DESCRIPTION: LINE COOK

The Grumpy Monk Carolina Forest is looking for a highly motivated and hardworking individual with cooking experience for the position of Line Cook. Line Cooks will work with other cooks and culinary professionals to achieve goals and ensure customer satisfaction. Line Cooks will be committed to using safe and sanitary cooking practices and maintaining an organized and clean cooking area. Compensation for this position includes an hourly rate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary food items and supplies.
- Prepare food for service using proper technique and recipes (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
- Answer and report to the Kitchen Manager or Culinary Market Manager and follow basic instructions and training guidelines.
- Maintain a clean work station and complete daily cleaning of all equipment.
- Stock inventory and safely store food items in accordance with Dept. of Agriculture standards.
- Demonstrate proper food-handling and comply with nutrition, food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Follow all safety guidelines posted and demonstrated during training in order to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
