Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing regulations, and other federal/state housing laws across multiple properties.
- Conduct regular audits of property files, tenant records, and financial documentation to verify adherence to program requirements.
- Collaborate with landlords, property managers, and residents to resolve compliance issues through negotiation and clear communication.
- Provide guidance on landlord-tenant law and fair housing practices to staff and property partners.
- Assist residents facing crises by applying crisis intervention techniques and motivational interviewing to support stability and well-being.
- Manage property management software such as Yardi and OneSite for accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
- Facilitate training sessions on compliance standards, fair housing regulations, and crisis management for staff and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 voucher systems, landlord-tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations.
- Strong negotiation skills to resolve disputes effectively while maintaining positive relationships with tenants and landlords.
- Experience in property management or social work with a focus on affordable housing or community services.
- Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism using crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques.
- Familiarity with property management software such as OneSite is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate others on complex compliance issues.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice principles, including fair housing practices and addiction counseling when necessary.
