Duties and responsibilities

Create engaging, creative, and timely content for Ski Cooper's social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other relevant social platforms.

Create social-first content including Reels, Stories, short-form video, and other emerging formats to increase engagement and reach.

Capture high-quality photography and video of the ski area, skiing and snowboarding, events, activities, employees, guests, and the overall Cooper experience throughout the season.

Develop and execute a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of content that supports Ski Cooper's brand, marketing objectives, promotions, and seasonal priorities.

Write compelling social media posts, captions, articles, website copy, and other marketing content to accompany visual content and engage our audience.

Proactively identify and capture compelling stories, people, experiences, and behind-the-scenes moments that showcase what makes Ski Cooper unique.

Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive interactions with our online community.

Use sound judgment when responding to guest questions, comments, complaints, or sensitive issues, and escalate matters to the appropriate team member when necessary.

Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and Sales to promote special events, promotions, programs, and marketing initiatives.

Collaborate with the Risk Manager to create and publish a series of safety messages throughout the season.

Provide timely social media coverage of important mountain activities, events, special occasions, powder days, opening days, and other opportunities as they arise.

Maintain and organize Ski Cooper's photo and video content library, ensuring digital assets are properly stored and accessible for future use.

Track social media performance, including engagement, reach, audience growth, and video performance, and use analytics to help guide future content and strategy.

Stay up to date with social media trends, emerging platforms, content formats, and best practices in photography, videography, content creation, social media, and digital marketing.

Maintain consistency with Ski Cooper's brand voice, visual identity, and overall marketing strategy.
-
Assist with social media scheduling, publishing, and analytics using applicable platforms and tools.
-
Work closely with Guest Services, Ski Patrol, Ski School, and other departments to gather information and create timely, accurate, and engaging content.

Qualifications
-
Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field recommended.
-
At least two years of experience working in marketing, social media, content creation, or a related field preferred.

Proven experience creating engaging social media content, including photography, videography, and short-form video.
-
Strong writing skills with the ability to craft engaging and effective copy for a variety of audiences and platforms.
-
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, algorithms, and best practices.
-
Experience with social media scheduling, publishing, and analytics tools.
-
Experience with social-first video editing and mobile content creation.
-
Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, and Illustrator.
-
Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, Google Analytics, or similar digital marketing tools is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, partners, and the public.

Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual aesthetics, storytelling, and compelling social media content.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with others on the Cooper team.
-
Excellent judgment and professionalism when representing Ski Cooper publicly and interacting with guests online.
-
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, powder days, special events, and other times when coverage is needed during the ski season.

Intermediate to advanced skiing or snowboarding skills with a genuine passion for winter sports.
Working conditions
This position is based both inside and outside, exposed to temperature extremes (below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500+ feet).
Physical requirements
Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift objects that may be heavy, etc.

Seasonal Status
This is a winter seasonal position with an expected season of early December 2026 through Late March to mid April 2027. Employment in subsequent seasons is not guaranteed. Be sure to speak with your supervisor if you desire to return the next season.
