Description

Plan, monitor, implement, and evaluate department and district initiatives while ensuring adherence and compliance to state and federal career and technical education guidelines. Provide curriculum, communications and technical support to Career Institute teachers, and assist staff and administrators with all facets of implementing the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program by providing tools and resources to improve instructional practices.

Plan, coordinate, implement, and provide oversight to properly align Career and Technical Education courses and programs across 16 Career Clusters.

Design, develop, and implement high-quality professional development experiences for Dallas ISD Career and Technical Education teachers.

Collaborate with Business and Industry partners to identify job shadowing and work-based learning opportunities.

Coordinate internship and externship opportunities for students and teachers.

Collaborate with the Evaluation and Assessment Department, core content departments, and the Special Education Department to develop intervention strategies to improve student performance indicators.

Plan, coordinate, implement, and analyze the results of the annual campus CTE program evaluation.

Work with CTE Coordinators to implement, support, and sustain Career and Technical Student Organizations.

Manage the Dallas ISD Online Internship Preparation Course.

Manage and curate the Career and Technical Education webpages. (See www.dallasisd.org/cte.)

Develop, implement, monitor, and provide oversight for the Career and Technical Education field trip process.

Collaborate with District-level personnel to ensure appropriate curriculum and resources are made available to all CTE teachers.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education; Master’s degree preferred

Five years of directly related experience, including prior supervisory experience.

Demonstrated strategic and operational planning skills.

Demonstrate ability to collaborate with other district departments as well as internal departments in the division.

Knowledge of careers, colleges, and pathways to both general understanding of career and technical education programs.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Forms.

Demonstrated administrative ability to manage staff and resources.
-
Demonstrated exemplary skills in presentation, designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring projects/programs in accordance with specified guidelines and policies.
