Looking for an opportunity to showcase your passion and creativity in the food and beverage industry with a new concept? The team from Island Provisions is looking for experienced Barista/Servers for our next concept, The Heyday, located on Johns Island. The Heyday takes inspiration from the local sea islands and coastal farming into a café and bar setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Carry out all responsibilities of Barista, Server, Cashier, Expo, and Runner, Bartender
- Participate in creating a positive and team-oriented work environment
- Greet and thank every guest sincerely to create a welcoming experience
- Take orders confidently and efficiently while prioritizing hospitality and guest service
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages, café drinks, and menu items according to standards
- Deliver food and beverages to tables and assist guests throughout their visit
- Process sales transactions accurately
- Accept payments and handle cash and credit card transactions following proper procedures
- Respond to questions, concerns, and requests in a polite and efficient manner
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and beverage offerings
- Suggest and hand-sell coffee drinks, pastries, retail items, beer, wine, and other menu offerings
- Maintain high standards for quality, speed, and organization during busy service
- Replenish café, retail, and service items as needed
- Follow proper food storage procedures, including First In, First Out (FIFO)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment following company standards
- Communicate effectively with teammates regarding order timing, preparation, and menu availability
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Maintain cleanliness of the café (bussing and wiping tables, sweeping, assisting with dishes, etc.)
- Assist with barista prep, drink preparation, and light food prep as needed
Pay: $16.00 - $30.00 per hour
