Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC/R Installer to oversee installation teams and manage commercial projects. This role requires a skilled professional who can handle complete system installations from setup to startup while leading and developing junior technicians. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various HVAC/R equipment types and the ability to ensure all work meets industry standards and safety requirements. This position involves direct customer interaction, project coordination, and maintaining high-quality installations across diverse job sites.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of HVAC/R installation experience
- Proficient installing rooftop units, split systems, VRF, ductwork, ventilation, walk-ins, and ice machines
- Capable of complete installation cycle from setup to system startup and diagnostics
- Expert in ductwork design and installation
- Proficient with refrigerant systems, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless systems Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Strong math skills and measuring tool proficiency
- Identify trade materials by size, shape, and function
- Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs., as well as perform overhead work and crawling/squatting, with or without reasonable accommodation
- EPA Universal
- Nate Core Strongly Preferred
- NATE Certification a plus
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain HVAC/R equipment including rooftop units, split systems, VRF systems, ductwork, ventilation systems, walk-ins, and ice machines
- Install electrical components, wiring, and system controls
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
- Lead installation teams, delegate tasks, and mentor junior technicians
- Ensure all work meets local codes, regulations, and safety requirements
- Perform quality control inspections and system testing throughout installation
- Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and customers
- Troubleshoot installation problems and respond to emergency service calls
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used
- Provide ongoing training to installation crew(s) on industry best practices and develop their capabilities for expanded responsibilities
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe at all times
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Support overall company operations as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
