Beautiful You Health & Wellness Club is seeking a Maryland-licensed Medical Director (MD) to provide active clinical oversight, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the continued growth of a high-performing wellness and aesthetics practice.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Medical Director who will serve as a true clinical partner—ensuring safety, compliance, and strategic expansion of our services.
Role Overview
This role provides active clinical oversight in accordance with Maryland regulations, including COMAR 10.32.09 and COMAR 10.32.12 (Delegation of Acts by a Licensed Physician). The Medical Director will lead protocol development, approve treatment plans, and ensure all delegated care is delivered safely, appropriately, and within scope.
This is not a passive or “license-only” role. The Medical Director will serve as an engaged clinical leader, supporting both compliance and practice growth.
What You Will Do
1. Medical Oversight & Compliance
- Maintain an active Maryland MD license and NPI in good standing
- Maintain an active DEA and Controlled Substance License (required)
- Ensure and uphold full compliance with:
- COMAR regulations
- Maryland scope of practice laws
- OSHA and HIPAA regulations
- Serve as the supervising physician for all medical services
- Maintain active oversight of clinical operations across all service lines
2. Client Evaluations & Treatment Authorization
- Perform or oversee patient evaluations (in-person or via approved telehealth models, as applicable)
- Ensure medical necessity is consistently established in accordance with protocols and regulations
- Review and approve treatment plans for all services, including:
- Medical Weight Loss (GLP-1, prescriptions)
- IV Therapy & Vitamin Injections
- Hormone Optimization & Peptide Therapy
- Aesthetic & Cosmetic Procedures (neurotoxins, fillers, devices)
- Ensure all treatments align with clinical safety, best practices, and evidence-based standards
3. Delegation & Supervision
- Delegate treatment plans to NPs, RNs, and MAs within scope
- Ensure and oversee that all delegated procedures:
- Remain within legal scope
- Are properly supervised
- Follow Maryland regulatory requirements
- Maintain ongoing availability for clinical consultation and escalation
4. Protocols & Clinical Governance
- Develop and maintain medical protocols, treatment guidelines, and emergency procedures
- Lead routine chart reviews and quality assurance audits
- Ensure staff training and documentation meet regulatory standards
5. Leadership & Collaboration
- Participate in bi-weekly or, at a minimum, monthly meetings with leadership
- Provide ongoing guidance on patient care, treatment outcomes, risk management, and safety improvements
- Reinforce a culture of accountability, excellence, and high-touch care
6. Treatment Oversight & Clinical Expertise
- Maintain or obtain certification (e.g., IAPAM or equivalent) for weight loss oversight
- Prescribe and manage medications as needed
- Oversee all clinical service lines to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Continuously bring forward current research, trends, and evidence-based recommendations to support clinical decisions
7. Medical Leadership & Practice Growth
- Support and guide the expansion of medical and aesthetic services
- Bring additional expertise or specialty areas that can be integrated into the practice
- Recommend:
- New treatment offerings
- Technology adoption
- Service enhancements
- Contribute to revenue-generating strategy through clinically sound service expansion
- Represent the practice in:
- Regulatory matters
- Compliance audits
- Clinical partnerships
8. Accessibility & Clinical Support
- Remain accessible and responsive for clinical questions and guidance
- Provide timely and decisive input on patient care decisions
- Support the team with real-time or near-real-time clinical consultation when needed
9. Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Maintain professional conduct aligned with company standards
Compensation
Compensation is structured based on experience and level of engagement.
Monthly Retainer: $1,300–$1,500
- Includes up to 15 hours per month of clinical oversight, consultation, and leadership engagement.
- Additional scope to be determined and agreed upon as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Active Maryland MD License in good standing
- Active DEA and Controlled Substance License (required)
- Experience supervising clinical staff (NPs, RNs, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of delegation laws, COMAR regulations, and compliance
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Preferred
- Strongly preferred: Experience in aesthetic or wellness-based medical practices
- Experience in aesthetic medicine, including injectables, non-surgical procedures, or device-based treatments
- Experience with medical weight loss programs (including GLP-1 therapies)
- Exposure to IV therapy, hormone optimization, or wellness-based services
- Prior experience serving as a Medical Director in a medspa, outpatient, or wellness setting
- Experience developing clinical protocols, standing orders, and training frameworks
- Familiarity with aesthetic technologies and devices (e.g., skin tightening, laser, body contouring)
- Open to learning and supporting new service lines and technologies as the practice expands
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and commitment to staying current in aesthetics and wellness medicine

Clinical Oversight Expectations
The Medical Director will provide ongoing clinical oversight and supervision in alignment with Maryland regulations. This role requires consistent engagement through leadership collaboration, protocol review, and availability for clinical consultation, but does not require daily on-site presence.
