Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plans, directs and supervises the work of the Maintenance and Operations Section of a 285-bed facility. Approves time and attendance and conducts performance performs appraisals on employees in the maintenance section.
Inspects, checks work of employees performing mechanical maintenance, HVAC and electrical work.
Supervises special installations, inspections or repairs of Mechanical equipment.
Recommends improvements in maintenance and operating techniques.
Performs inventories and maintains property control records.
Consults with management and provides advice concerning operations.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have five years of experience in the maintenance and/or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation equipment or electrical systems.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
