Position Summary
Global Builders Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial and public works construction projects throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field supervision, scheduling, quality control, safety compliance, and subcontractor coordination. This position requires extensive travel between job sites from San Diego to Palm Springs and surrounding areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Public Works construction experience.
- Proven experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors on active construction sites.
- Strong understanding of California building codes, OSHA regulations, and public work requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Southern California.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily field operations and site activities.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and labor crews.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Conduct daily site inspections and maintain quality control standards.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Coordinate inspections with local agencies and public entities.
- Maintain project schedules and provide regular progress updates.
- Review and implement project plans, specifications, RFIs, and change orders.
- Maintain daily reports, site logs, and project documentation.
- Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and cost impacts.
- Attend project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project managers.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination from project startup through closeout.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with prevailing wage and public work projects.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software.
