Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate would offer high-quality care and specialized therapy services designed for patients undergoing total joint procedures in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC), focusing on safety, fall prevention, and mobility.
Duties:
- Instruct patients on safe movement and transfer techniques post-surgery to facilitate a safe transition home.
- Educate patients and caregivers on how to safely assist with household transfers and mobility.
- Offer guidance on safe stair navigation during the recovery phase.
- Provide immediate post-operative care to assist with pain management.
- Train caregivers to ensure they are well-prepared with the necessary knowledge and skills to support the patient’s recovery and deliver optimal care.
Qualifications
- Appropriate degree from an accredited PTA program.
- Current state licensure as a PTA.
- Current BLS certification
- Experience or knowledge in orthopedics and post surgical care is preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with medical terminology and a solid understanding of physiology is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members is a must.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance the patients overall recovery.
