Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification required
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, especially in a resource classroom
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive student relationships
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Passion for helping diverse learners succeed
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction for students with diverse learning needs in a resource classroom setting
- Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and develop instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
- Assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and sharing updates with the educational team and families
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning experience
- Foster a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment
