Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care and support for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities. Duties
- Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as meal preparation, medication administration, catheter care, and light housekeeping tasks like cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Support clients with mobility transfers using patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Document medical records meticulously, including medication logs, vital signs, and care notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and home healthcare standards.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and medical terminology guidelines while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide emotional support and companionship tailored to clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care activities and end-of-life care when needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings with geriatric or disabled populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, catheter care, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR certification.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper patient transfer techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Valid certifications in first aid, CPR, and home health care assistance; additional certifications related to hospice or end-of-life care are advantageous.
